MAINTENANCE & ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
I. CAUTION AGAINST STRIPPAGE
Stnppage or cross-threading of any threads on any threads on any plate
manufactured by LASER SKATE INC. is not covered under our
guarantee. For this reason, extreme caution should be exercised when
screwing in the toe stop, action bolt, or toe stop adjustment screw into
any nylon plate. If there is any question as to the method of how to
property align and insert any bolt or screw onto one of our plates, seek
professional help at your local roller rink or skate store or call LASER
SKATE INC. for technical support.
II. INITIAL TRUCK TIGHTENING INSTRUCTION
On all LASER SKATE INC. nylon skates it is of the utmost importance that the action nuts on skate truck assemblies be kept as tight am possible right from the very onset of skate use. We recommend the use of a long handled wrench for hand tightening, plus if necessary, the use of a hammer to tighten action nuts still more. When brand new, our nylon threads are designed to hold action bolts very securely. However, if action bolts are allowed to loosen while in use, thread wear and damage does occur. Once begun, this resulting thread wear initiates a loosening-tightening cycle (with further thread wear taking place at each occurrence), and this compounding cycle, in turn, eventually leads to total thread strippage. Therefore, it is to the skaters greatest advantage to ensure that truck assemblies are kept from loosening right from the very beginning of skate use.
III. CAUTION AGAINST BREAKAGE OF JUMP BAR
Breakage of the LASER ELITE or NYLON plates at the location of the jump bar can be caused by resting the jump bat on a solid surface while exerting weight or force from above onto the skates. Breakage occurring in this way is considered a form of abuse. DO NOT REST JUMP BAR ON A SOLID OBJECT WHILE ADJUSTING SKATES OR TYING LACES.
IV. BALL SOCKET LUBRICATION
To ensure free movement between truck and plate, a small amount of soft grease-type lubricant (i.e. Lubriplate #105) should be placed on the ball of each truck before initial use. This procedure should be repeated each time truck housings are changed, or at least, once every six months.
V. SPECIAL MOUNTING INSTRUCTION
A) Laser Skate Inc.’s mounting bolts are made from high-grade hardened steel. A fine tooth (32 teeth per inch) hacksaw blade is required for sawing off the excess.
B) To tighten front mounting nut, a 7/16” thin-walled socket Is recommended.
VI. SPECIAL HARD-NOSED BUSHING INSTRUCTIONS
Toe stop threads must be well oiled before insertion into HARD-NOSE Aluminum Bushing, otherwise cross threading and/or galling will occur.
VERSION 9-99: This version supercedes all previous versions.
